Lahore: Pakistan reported 71 deaths from the novel coronavirus in the past 24 hours, and the number of positive cases surged to 435,056. The death toll across the country jumped to 8,724 on Saturday.
According to the latest data from the National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), 2729 people have tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 24 hours.
In terms of individual cases, Sindh is still the province most affected by the pandemic, followed by Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Islamabad. The number of casualties in Punjab has exceeded that in Sindh.
Till now 192,735 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Sindh, 126,526 in Punjab51,404 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 34,300 in Islamabad, 17,696 in Balochistan, 7,620 in Azad Kashmir and 4,775 in Gilgit-Baltistan.
Furthermore 3,320 individuals have lost their lives to the epidemic in Punjab 3,132 in Sindh, 1,455 in KP, 358 in Islamabad, 188 in Azad Kashmir, 173 in Balochistan, and 98 in GB.
Pakistan has so far conducted 5,990,168 coronavirus tests and 41,426 tests in the past 24 hours. The country has recovered 381,208 coronavirus patients, while 2,470 patients are in critical condition.
