LAHORE: Pakistan has reported 6 deaths from the novel coronavirus in the past 24 hours as the number of positive cases surged to 310,275. The total number of deaths nationwide has jumped to 6,457.
According to the latest data from the National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), 694 people have tested positive for COVID-19 within 24 hours.
In terms of individual cases, Sindh is still the province most affected by the pandemic, followed by Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Islamabad.
Till now 135,766 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Sindh, 99,128 in Punjab, 37,617 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 16,440 in Islamabad, 15,013 in Balochistan, 2,649 in Azad Kashmir and 3,662 in Gilgit-Baltistan.
Furthermore 2,486 individuals have lost their lives to the epidemic in Sindh, 2,230 in Punjab, 1,259 in KP, 145 in Balochistan, 181 in Islamabad, 85 in GB and 71 in Azad Kashmir.
Pakistan has so far conducted 3,420,654 coronavirus tests and 36,468 tests in the past 24 hours. The country has recovered 295,613 coronavirus patients, and another 584 patients are in critical condition.
