LAHORE: Pakistan has reported 54 deaths from the novel coronavirus in the past 24 hours, and the number of positive cases has soared to 593,453. On Tuesday, the death toll across the country jumped to 13,281.
According to the latest data from the National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), 1,353 people have tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 24 hours.
In terms of individual cases, Sindh is still the province most affected by the pandemic, followed by Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan. Punjab province is reported to have the highest number of casualties.
Till now 259,956 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Sindh, 178,648 in Punjab, 74,167 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 19,121 in Balochistan, 45,976 in Islamabad, 10,626 in Azad Kashmir and 4,959 in Gilgit-Baltistan.
Furthermore, 5,600 individuals have lost their lives to the epidemic in Punjab, 4,436 in Sindh, 2,118 in KP, 201 in Balochistan, 511 in Islamabad, 313 in Azad Kashmir and 102 in GB.
Pakistan has so far conducted 9,278,613 coronavirus tests and 31,786 tests in the past 24 hours. The country has recovered 563,823 coronavirus patients, while 1,644 patients are in critical condition.
