LAHORE: Pakistan reported 14 deaths from the novel coronavirus in the past 24 hours, and the number of positive cases surged to 287,299. The total number of deaths across the country jumped to 6,153.
According to the latest data from the National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), 626 people have tested positive for COVID-19 within 24 hours.
In terms of cases, Sindh is still the province most affected by the pandemic, followed by Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Islamabad.
Till now 125,289 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Sindh, 94,993 in Punjab, 35,021 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 12,062 in Balochistan, 15,324 in Islamabad, 2,426 in Gilgit-Baltistan and 2,167 in Azad Kashmir.
Furthermore 2,307 individuals have lost their lives to the epidemic in Sindh, 2,180 in Punjab, 1,236 in KP, 138 in Balochistan, 173 in Islamabad, 59 in Azad Kashmir and 60 in GB.
Test and restore
Pakistan has so far conducted 2,229,409 coronavirus tests and 23,745 tests in the past 24 hours. The country has recovered 265,215 coronavirus patients, while 774 patients are in critical condition.
