Lahore: Interior Ministry on Thursday has closed Wagah Border in order to curb the spread of deadly coronavirus in the country.
According to a statement from the ministry, the border is closed for two weeks. The announcement also states that the suspension of border activities is in the interest of Pakistan and India.
The decision was made by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, who reported the first two deaths from the new coronavirus in Pakistan and 310 rural patients.
Sindh remains the most affected province in the pandemic, as 211 patients tested positive for coronavirus.
33 cases were confirmed in Punjab, 23 cases were confirmed in Balochistan Province, 19 cases were confirmed in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province, 15 cases were confirmed in Gilgit-Balstan, eight cases were confirmed in Islamabad, and Azah De Kashmir confirmed one case.
