Srinagar: According to Kashmir Media Services, a 65-year-old man infected with a coronavirus in occupied Kashmir died of a CD in a breast cancer hospital in Srinagar on Thursday morning.
Officials told media sources that Muhammad Ashraf, a native of the Snaga Hydera district, was first a victim of corona virus in occupied Kashmir.
Government spokesperson Rohit Kansal said, “This is sad news. This is first death due to Coronavirus in Jammu and Kashmir.” He said four others who were in contact with him have also tested for the deadly virus.
Chest Disease Hospital doctors said the patient had a long history of diabetes, hypertension, and obesity.
The victim was a member of “Tablighi Jamaat” and recently returned to New Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Cha.
As of now, eight persons have tested positive for the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in the Kashmir Valley while the tally of such patients in the entire occupied territory has gone up to 11.
