Consular access: Kulbhushan Jadhav, Indian diplomats traded barbs during meeting

ISLAMABAD: Kulbhushan Jadhav has foiled conspiracy of Indian diplomats for sabotaging the consular access to him as Indian Charge d’Affaires Gaurav Ahluwalia and the spy traded barbs during the meeting, diplomatic sources told on Friday.

According to diplomatic sources, after the Pakistani authorities provided consular access on July 16, Gaurav Ahluwalia and Kulbhushan Jadhav conducted a barb deal at a meeting due to insisting on Indian envoys abroad.

During the meeting, Ahluwalia declared Jadhav a mentally absent and insane which led the Indian spy to slam the diplomat over his remarks. He told the visiting diplomats for how could they declare a senior commission officer of Indian Navy mentally absent and insane person despite he is in good health condition.

According to sources, the Pakistani authorities have previously allowed a diplomat of the Indian High Commission to meet with Kurbushan Jadaf. Later, the two diplomats were allowed to hold meetings with Indian spies because they insisted on their charge d’affaires.

Jadhav once asked senior Pakistani officials if he was also popular in Pakistan.

Earlier on October 6, the Islamabad High Court (IHC) had given an opportunity to India for appointing a lawyer for the arrested spy Kulbhushan Jadhav.

The Chief Judge of the IHC stated at the last hearing that Amich Antiques should provide assistance in previous rulings of the same type of cases by the International Court of Justice. He added that the basic motivation is to ensure the meaningful enforcement of the International Court of Justice decision in this case.

Justice Minallah remarked that India could contact directly to the court by filing a plea besides sending its representative in the case before adjourning the hearing till November 9.
