Islamabad: Federal Minister of Education and Professional Training Shafqat Mehmood announced that given the current Covid-19 situation, preparatory and intermediate examinations will be conducted twice a year.

When talking about the important decision of the 32nd Inter-Provincial Education Ministers Meeting (IPEMC) held yesterday, the Federal Minister of Education stated that the two levels of examinations will be held in May/June and October/November, respectively. Tuesday.

Similarly, he said, universities across the country have also been instructed to open admissions twice a year to accommodate students during the pandemic.

Shafqat said the board exam will be held from May to June, and the next school year will start on August 22. However, the O and A level exams will be conducted as planned. Therefore, the university will set its own exam schedule, he added.

In IPEMC, when it is also decided to calculate the number of compulsory subjects, the average value of elective subjects will be used.

However, for the convenience of students because of the pandemic, students who fail all subjects will receive a score of 33% to calculate the average score.

In compulsory subjects, an additional score of 5% will also be given. IPEMC also unanimously decided that the provinces will give 50% grace points in practice, and the remaining 50% points will be given based on theory.

He added that the Technical Education Committee will also adopt the same promotion policy.

The Ministers of Education decided to make every effort to ensure that the entire syllabus of all courses is completed by April/May.

Therefore, there will be no smart syllabus. He informed that the examination will be conducted from the entire syllabus.
