Islamabad: The country’s car sales in November increased by 40% compared to the same period last year.
Car sales in November increased to 11,914 units, compared with 8,524 units in the same period last year. Compared with the same period in 2019-20, car sales in the first five months (July to November) also increased by 13.58%.
According to data released by the Pakistan Automobile Manufacturers Association (PAMA) on Friday, 55,779 vehicles were sold during the reporting period, compared with 49,107 in the same period last year.
Spin-off data shows that in November this year, Honda Civic and Honda sold 2,088 cars, compared with 1,074 in the same period last year, an increase of 94%.
Toyota Corolla sales have experienced negative growth, down 21.54% year-on-year, from 2,172 units in the same period last year to 1,704 units.
Suzuki Swift also witnessed a 38% negative growth, as its sales fell from 184 in November 2019 to 114.
Similarly, sales of the newly launched Toyota Yaris have also declined, with November sales plummeting from 3,058 units last month to 2,338 units.
Sales of Suzuki Cultus increased to 1,517 units in the month under review, compared with 914 units in the same period last year.
The sales of Suzuki Wagon R have soared to 881 from 641 in November last year.
However, Suzuki Alto’s sales have declined, from 2,967 in November 2019 to 2,723 in the same month of the same year.
At the same time, motorcycle sales increased by 13.32%, reaching 168,198 units in November, compared with 148426 units in the same period last year.
