ASI arrested for working for Indian spy agency


Karachi: Officials of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) said on Saturday that the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) had arrested another berth in the Indian Research and Analysis Wing (RAW).

“ASI Musawwir Naqvi, an official of special branch police, is a key member of RAW sleeper cell,” FIA officials said. Accused ASI was on duty at surveillance unit at Karachi airport, officials said.

The accused was recruited in Sindh Police in year 1991.

According to FIA officials, accused had visited India in 2008 to get training for subversive activities.

Accused ASI Musawwir Naqvi was involved in facilitating his accomplices at airport and was also involved in targeted killings and terrorism activities, FIA sources said.

“Arrested policeman is affiliated with MQM’s London group,” officials claimed.

The investigative agency also earlier arrested another intelligence agency in Karachi Police Station for the same crime.

A FIA source said: “Six defendants involved in the activities of Indian spy agencies were arrested earlier.”

FIA officials said that the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) investigated the defendants arrested in the case.

Earlier, the FIA’s counterterrorism department arrested Asif Siddiqui, an important member of the Karachi RAW sleeper unit.

Officials said the arrested man was a 17th grade government employee and was involved in sending information about security agencies to India via email.

Officials said the defendant also sent photos and other details of sensitive and safe places to India via email.

The defendant is said to be working at SITE in Karachi.

It is worth mentioning here that the police recently claimed the arrest of Shahid Ilyas ’alias“ Mutahida ”and two associates who were allegedly associated with Indian spy agencies.

Another inspector general, Ghulam Nabi Memon, said at a news conference that the arrested person, who is the Shahid alias Muttahida, is the head of the RAW terrorist department.

Maymon detailed that the police carried out several raids on the tip and arrested the terrorists and their two associates, who operated a RAW-related terrorist network in Karachi. In addition to the arrests, the commando team found two mortar launchers, nine rocket launchers, rockets, grenades and modern weapons.

“The defendant was connected to the RAW network and carried out terrorist activities in Karachi. Shahid Ilyas was related to the Muttahida Qaumi movement in London (MQM-L). He received the money through Hawala Hundi in India, and these people also Participate in distributing money to other terrorists. “
