Islamabad: Asad Qaiser, Speaker of the National Assembly, emphasized the need to promote a culture of patience and tolerance in politics.
In a statement on Sunday, he regretted the unpleasant incident that took place yesterday with the parliamentarians outside the parliament lodges.
He assured to hold inquiry into the incident. He however said that the political leadership will have to play its role to curb such incidents.
The spokesperson said that the representatives elected by the members of the parliament and everyone must respect them.
It is pertinent to mention here that a shoe was hurled at Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Ahsan Iqbal outside Parliament House on Saturday.
As per details, PML-N leaders Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and Musadik Malik also grappled with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) workers.
This incident occurred after PTI workers presented their slogans at a press conference of PML-N leaders. Supporters of the current government chanted slogans and posted placards in support of Prime Minister Imran Khan.
