Gujranwala: The preparations for the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM), the main opposition coalition, have been completed (today (Friday) in Gujranwala).
The first public meeting of the Pakistani Democracy Movement will dismiss the central government led by PTI. The meeting will be held at Jinnah Stadium.
Leaders of all major opposition parties including Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) vice president Maryam Nawaz, chairman Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and PDM president and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman will participate on today’s public gathering.
Maryam Nawaz plans to take a caravan from Jati Umra to Gujranwala, while Bilawal Bhutto Zardari will lead a rally from Lalamusa. After Jumma’s prayer, Maulana Fazlur Rehman will travel to Gujranwala at a rally in Jamia Ashrafia ( Gijranwala).
For security reasons, at least 7,000 police and officials have been deployed at Jinnah Stadium. The PDM public meeting place is decorated with flags and banners of all opposition parties.
On the other hand, the police also formulated a plan to prevent the caravan from participating in the rally. More than 24 cordon lines entering and leaving the city have been blocked, and more than 45 mobile police teams continue to patrol the area.
