Karachi: The provincial government of Sindh has announced that educational institutions in the province will be closed from March 2, 2020 to March 13, 2020.
A spokesperson for the Chief Minister, Sindh, confirmed that the decision was taken at a meeting chaired by the Chief Minister.
The previous notification from the provincial government of Sindh announced that educational institutions will be closed from 27 February 2020 to 2 March 2020.
A second case of coronavirus was reported in Karachi on Saturday. The Sindh Health Department revealed that the person has been quarantined and that anyone who has had physical contact with him has been quarantined.
In the meantime, public and private schools in Balochistan are closed until 15 March. The provincial government has announced that it has postponed the entrance exams for the Balochistan Intermediary and Secondary Education Councils and will later reorganize them.

“We have received reports of two more positive cases of coronavirus, one has been reported in Sindh province, (the) other in federal areas,” Dr Zafar Mirza, Pakistan’s health minister, had said during a press conference on Saturday.
However, the Minister of Health assured people not to panic about the outbreak of new infections in Pakistan. He said that two patients who were being treated got better and that one of them would soon be discharged.
Symptoms of the virus are cough, fever and respiratory problems. Coronavirus originated in the wet market in Wuhan, where animals and people have close contact and have spread to 60 countries around the world.
