Kabul: Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid said on Tuesday that Afghanistan faces major challenges and promises that there will be no confrontation with anyone.
At a press conference in Kabul on Tuesday, he said that freedom is our legal right and added that they have no hostility towards anyone. The spokesperson also congratulated the Afghan people.
“I want to assure the international community, including the United States, that no one will be harmed,” he said, adding that Afghanistan will not be part of any war.
Zabihullah Mujahid asserted that women’s rights will be protected within the framework of Islamic law. “Women will be very active in society, but within the framework of Islam,” he said.
He said that private media can continue to be free and independent in Afghanistan, adding that the Taliban are committed to the media within its cultural framework.
