Lahore: The Accountability Court has ordered the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) to file a reference against Khawaja Asif without any unnecessary delay.
According to the detailed information, the Accountability Tribunal has made a written decision on Khawaja Asif’s attendance request until it is submitted to NAB for reference. The accountability court’s written order stated that NAB’s special prosecutor should notify the investigating officer of the submission of reference documents.
The decision stated that if there is no NAB reference, there is no point in continuing the case. Khawaja Asif will be summoned after NAB reference.
The court ordered Khawaja Asif’s case file to be sent to the record room.
It can be recalled that NAB arrested Khawaja Asif from Islamabad in a case where the assets on bail granted by the Lahore High Court (LHC) exceeded the financial means.
