Karachi: The first day of Eidul Azha will be celebrated in Pakistan on August 1. Mufti Muneebur Rehman, chairman of the Central Ruet-i-Hilal Committee, announced that he had not received any reliable reports of seeing the moon in Zilhaj on Tuesday.
The Ruet-i-Hilal Committee chairman said, “We have reached a consensus that the moon for Zilhaj was not sighted, and Eidul Azha will now be celebrated across the country on August 1.”
Before the announcement, meetings of the Central Moon Observation Committee and other regional committees were held in all the capital cities of the country.
It said that there are no reliable reports of observations of the moon anywhere in the country.
The Islamic month of Zilhaj will begin on July 22, and Eidul Azha will be celebrated across Pakistan on August 1.
