The World Bank has approved a financing of US$304 million for the Resource Improvement and Digital Effectiveness Program (PRIDE) in Punjab.
The plan supports improving the efficiency of public resource management, thereby saving money and creating fiscal space for growth investment in Punjab.
The plan helps Pakistan strengthen its public financial management system at the federal and provincial levels. It will improve taxation by increasing business and real estate registrations.
In addition, the plan will simplify tax management processes such as registration, filing, payment, refunds and appeals.
