Violation election rules: ECP issues notices to Bilawal, Murad Ali Shah


Islamabad: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Tuesday has issued notices to chairman Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and other party leaders for holding a public rally in Peshawar ahead of local bodies elections.

Despite the injunction, the district election commissioner issued a notice to the PPP leaders to hold the meeting. The PPP organized a public gathering in Peshawar related to the 54th founding day of the party.

According to sources, notices have also been issued to other PPP leaders, including Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, Said Kurshid Shah, Said Ghani and others.

According to paragraph 17 of the ECP Code of Conduct, after the election date has been notified, any member of the Diet shall not visit the electoral district where the election is scheduled.
