New York: The United States became the first country to report more than 2,000 coronavirus deaths in one day, which marked a serious milestone as large regions of the world celebrated the Easter holiday weekend at home.
The number of deaths caused by the virus has surged to 103,000 worldwide, and the United States quickly became the center of a pandemic that first appeared in China late last year.
So far, Europe has assumed the bulk of all deaths and infections-although there are signs that in some of the worst-hit countries, this curve may start to flatten.
On Saturday, the figures from Spain brought a dash of hope: 510 new deaths, the third consecutive day of deaths fell.
