Washington: According to statistics from Johns Hopkins University as of 8:30 pm Monday (0030 GMT), the United States has recorded 1,509 deaths related to the coronavirus pandemic in the past 24 hours.

The death toll was similar to the 1514 deaths on the previous day.

The epidemic has claimed at least 23,529 lives and is the largest country in the world in the United States.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), more than 550,000 people in the United States are infected with the virus.

The Governor of New York announced on Monday that despite the death toll exceeding 10,000, the state ’s “worst case is over” as several states began to develop a plan to reopen their closed economies.

President Donald Trump tweeted that any decision to terminate the business will depend on him, although individual governors have introduced lockout measures.

The US federal government system delegates power to the governors of 50 states, but in theory, the president can use his power to monitor a coordinated national strategy.

The World Health Organization has stated that premature lifting of restrictions may trigger a second wave of cases.
