Geneva: As the pandemic continues to rage, climate change and conflicts will push more people to the brink of famine. The United Nations said on Thursday that it needs US$41 billion to address the surge in aid needs worldwide.

The United Nations Humanitarian Agency for the Coordination of Humanitarian Agency estimates that next year there will be 274 million people worldwide—one out of 29—in need of some form of emergency assistance, a 17% increase from the record-breaking 2021.
