Lahore: Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry on Saturday said that two important legislations had been sent to the Federal Cabinet for approval, which would allow the parliamentarians to participate in the election campaign and declare online defamation a punishable offense.
He tweeted that under the first law, it had been proposed to allow MPs to campaign. In a second law, it was suggested that defaming others on social media be a punishable crime.
In the law relating to public defamation online, he said the court had to rule on the case within six months.
