Washington: US President Donald Trump announced on Thursday that the US economy has gradually reopened due to the brutal side effects of unprecedented efforts to stop the spread of coronavirus.
“Based on the latest data, our team of experts now agrees that we can begin the next front in our war,” Trump told a news conference. “We re opening up our country.”
A few hours after the announcement of the new data, the new data showed that in the past month, the pandemic impact of the world ’s largest economy has lost 22 million staff.
New York Federal Reserve Bank President John Williams warned that it may take “one or two years or even longer” for the US economy to recover, because other figures show that the housing construction market and manufacturing industry have been seriously damaged.
Trump had been running for re-election in November, mainly because the unemployment rate hit a record low and the US output surged.
Therefore, for Republicans, the fight against coronavirus and the elimination of social isolation and paralysis of the entire industry is also a race against the political clock.
However, the White House’s recommendations with medical advisers are far from Trump’s previous hopes that the sudden and widespread end of social alienation measures.
Instead, Trump described a cautious attitude that the governor, rather than the White House, would take the lead in action-which insisted on Trump’s retreat, and Trump has always insisted that he can decide the pace of reopening.
“Our approach will outline three phases in restoring our economic life,” he said. “We are not opening all at once, but one careful step at a time, and some states, they will be able to open up sooner than others.”
Some states, Trump said, are already free from the impact of the coronavirus and therefore can open “literally tomorrow.”
If state governors “need to remain closed, we will allow them to do that. If they believe it is time to reopen, we will provide them the freedom and guidance to accomplish that task and very, very quickly, depending on what they want to do,” he said.
