Lahore: The swearing-in ceremony of the new chief minister of Punjab, Hamza Shahbaz, will take place at the Governor’s Palace in Lahore at 4pm.
Senate President Sadiq Sanjrani is expected to preside over the swearing-in ceremony and the presidential palace will soon issue formal recommendations in this regard.
Meanwhile, the president wrote to the prime minister for advice after the Lahore High Court (LHC) directed Arif Alvi to nominate a representative to take the oath. To this end, the Prime Minister’s Office has recommended the appointment of the Senate President.
Sadiq Sanjrani has arrived in Lahore for the oath ceremony.
On the other hand, Punjab Governor Omar Sarfaraz Cheema felt ill and was taken to the service hospital at 8.30am.
