Islamabad: The Sugar Scandals Investigation Committee’s report has been questioned by 17 sugar mill owners, including the Pakistan Sugar Mill Association.
According to details, owners of 17 mills, including Pakistan Sugar Mills Association, challenged the report of Sugar Scandal Inquiry Commission in the Islamabad High Court (IHC). Pakistan Tehreek-e-insaf (PTI) senior leader Jahangir Tareen, Son of Speaker Punjab Assembly Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi, Member of National Assembly Chaudhry Moonis Elahi, brother of the Federal Minister Khusro Bakhtyar said to be among petitioners.
The petitioner has designated the Federal Government, the Home Secretary and the Federal Investigation Office (FIA) as petitioners, and Prime Minister Imran Khan’s Special Assistant for Accountability and Home Affairs Shahzad Akbar, FIA (DG) International Automobile Questions of United Wajid Zia and committee members have also joined the petition.
The petitioner has requested abolition of the composition of the Commission of Inquiry, the report and the approval of the Cabinet, saying that the establishment of the Commission of Inquiry is unlawful.
