The Singapore Ministry of Health said on Sunday that Singapore registered 931 new coronavirus infections, bringing the total number of COVID-19 cases in the city to 13,624.

The Ministry of Health said in a statement that the vast majority of new cases are migrant workers living in dormitories. Fifteen of the new cases are permanent residents.

The number of new cases rose from 618 on Saturday.

According to official data, this small country with a population of 5.7 million is now one of the countries with the highest infection rates in Asia, due to the outbreak of crowded dormitory buildings, which mainly accommodated 300,000 South Asian workers.
