Shehbaz Sharif condemns Lahore blast


Lahore: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Mian Shehbaz Sharif expressed his grief over the loss of precious lives in the Lahore bombing and said the poor and minors were affected by the strongly condemned bombing.

Terrorism in Lahore, days after the Islamabad incident, does not bode well for the country, the opposition leader of the National Assembly said.

Shehbaz Sharif also prayed for a speedy recovery for the injured.

On the other hand, Maryam Nawaz said the explosion in the busiest area of Lahore is very worrying.

It is worth mentioning that the explosion of the time device in the Panmandi area of the new Anakali Bazar in Lahore has caused several deaths.

Rescue teams arrived at the scene and transferred the injured to Mayo Hospital.

Windows of nearby shops and buildings were shattered in the blast and motorcycles were damaged.

Police said about 1.5 kilograms of explosives were used in the explosion. It is further understood that explosives were placed on the ground between the motorcycles.

Initial reports said the explosion occurred at 1:44 p.m., blowing up a building and destroying eight motorcycles.
