Seven die as coronavirus cases in Pakistan escalates to 972

Lahore: Pakistan reported 7 new coronavirus deaths on Wednesday and the total number increased to 972, such as in Sindh, 110 in Baloch, 281 in Punjab and 78 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 407 positive cases in Sindh, Gilgit-Baltistan, 15 in Islamabad and Azad Kashmir.

According to detailed information, Murtaza Wahab, adviser to Prime Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah, confirmed that a further ten patients with coronavirus were found in Sindh.

He added that the total number of patients now recovering in Sindh is 14.

Punjab confirms first death in Lahore

Punjab health minister Yasmin Rashid has confirmed the first death of a coronavirus patient in Lahore. She said in a tweet that the 57-year-old patient was identified as Afrasiyab, admitted to Mayo Hospital, and died Tuesday.

The minister further said: “These are indeed difficult times for the whole country. Only way we can fight this pandemic is by staying indoors and following the precautionary measures.”
