ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan has condemned the removal of Omar Sarfaraz Cheema as governor of Punjab.
Former prime minister Imran Khan has asked Supreme Court of Pakistan to take notice of ‘violation of constitution’ in Punjab and said that imported puppets are stirring up constitutional anarchy and chaos in Punjab.
First, the criminal figurehead was imposed on the province as chief minister through ghost elections, and now, all constitutional requirements aside, the office of the president has been insulted, he claims.
The former prime minister said his attempt to oust the Punjab governor was an embarrassing attempt because of his insistence on protecting the constitution.
Imran Khan said blatant constitutional violations in Punjab are being silently watched and therefore, given its sensitivity, the Supreme Court must take a suo motu notice on the situation.
