Rupee continues to strengthen against US dollar

Rupee sheds 21 paisas against dollar

KARACHI: The Pakistani rupee depreciated 21 paise against the U.S. dollar on Monday at 177.62 rupees in interbank trade, compared with the previous day’s close of 177.41 rupees, according to State Bank of Pakistan (SBP).

According to the Pakistan Foreign Exchange Association, the buying and selling rates for the dollar in the open market were 177.60 rupees and 178.50 rupees, respectively.

Likewise, the euro was trading at 196.91 rupees, down 1.8 paise, according to the State Bank of Pakistan.

The dollar rose 2.1 rupees against the pound to close the day at 235.97 rupees a pound, compared with the previous close of 238.12 rupees a pound.
