Islamabad: The Pakistani rupee fell by 20 paisa to the U.S. dollar in the inter-bank foreign exchange market on Thursday, compared to yesterday’s closing price of 166.78 rupees and closed at 166.98 rupees.
According to statistics from the Pakistan Foreign Exchange Association, the buying and selling prices of US dollars in the open market are 166.9 rupees and 167.5 rupees respectively.
The National Bank of Pakistan reported that in the interbank market, the euro exchange rate rose by 2.01 rupees to close at 196.27 rupees, while the last day’s transaction price was 194.26 rupees.
The yen fell by 1 paisa and closed at 1.58 rupees, while the pound exchange rate rose by 69 paisas. The pound traded at 216.88 rupees, compared with the previous closing price of 216.19 rupees.
The exchange rates of the Saudi Riyal and the UAE Dirham rose by 5 paises respectively, closing at 44.51 rupees and 45.46 rupees respectively.
