Karachi: In Thursday’s inter-bank transaction, the exchange rate of the Pakistani rupee to the US dollar fell by 43 paisa to the US dollar, closing at 166.03 rupees from the last closing price of 165.60 rupees.
However, according to the Pakistan Foreign Exchange Association, the buying and selling prices of US dollars on the open market are 165.75 rupees and 167.25 rupees respectively.
The National Bank of Pakistan reported that in inter-bank transactions, the price of the euro fell by 11 paisas to close at 196.32 rupees, compared with 196.43 rupees on the last trading day.
The yen exchange rate rose by one paisa, at 1.56 rupees, while the pound exchange rate rose by one paisa, at 220.87 rupees, and its recent closing price was 220.86 rupees.
The exchange rates of the Saudi Riyal and the UAE Dirham also rose by 11 paisas, to close at 44.26 rupees and 45.20 rupees respectively.
