Report on smog situation submitted in LHC

Lahore: The committee submitted a report on the haze situation in the Lahore High Court (LHC) on Tuesday.

At the hearing on the smog control case, the court stated that Lahore has become the most polluted city in the world. The court stated that due to the measures taken by the government, the intensity of smog has decreased in the past two days.

The LHC further directed the appointment of the Mayor of Lahore as the contact person.

On the other hand, schools in the provincial capital will be closed for three days in a week from November 27 to January 15. The city is shrouded in toxic smoke, which experts say puts residents at risk.

The Punjab government announced that public and private schools in Lahore will be closed three times a week.

The notice stated that schools and offices will be closed on Saturday, Sunday and Monday.

According to the notice, the time limit is from November 27th to January 15th. Private offices in the provincial capital will also be closed three days a week.
