Karachi: The Sindh provincial government has decided to allow the strict implementation of standard operating procedures (SOP) from today (Wednesday) to restore public transportation in Karachi.
Awais Shah, Minister of Transportation of Sindh Province, announced that public transportation in Karachi will be resumed today, and a supervision and inspection team has been established to ensure the implementation of SOP.
According to the regulations of the SOP, transport personnel must not accommodate passengers exceeding the capacity of the bus, and must wear masks. If the vehicle violates the SOP, it will be prohibited from continuing its service.
On the other hand, the Sindh Housing Department said in its notice that the business hours of the province will be Monday to Friday from 06:00 AM to 07:00 PM.
According to the notice, educational and training institutions, marriage and exhibition halls, sports clubs, gymnasiums, beauty salons, shrines, cinemas and theaters will remain closed.
The restaurant allows take-out and home delivery services. The notice from the Ministry of the Interior of Sindh will continue until June 30, 2020.
