GUJRANWALA: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) member of provincial assembly Shaheen Raza on Wednesday has lost her life to deadly coronavirus.
According to Deputy Commissioner Sohail Ashraf, PTI MPA was taken to a hospital in Lahore after his health deteriorated. However, he died today in the fight against the virus.
In expressing condolences to the death of Shaheen Raza, Prime Minister Imran Khan and Chief Minister of Punjab (CM) Sardar Usman Buzdar Pray for the eternal peace of the dead.
Pakistan is the deadliest day of the coronavirus pandemic, with 46 new deaths
As the number of deaths nationwide jumped to 985 and the number of positive cases surged to 45,898, Pakistan confirmed another 46 deaths of the new coronavirus within a day.
According to the latest data from the National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), 1,932 people were tested positive for COVID-19 within 24 hours.
Sindh remains the province most affected by the pandemic, followed by Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.
To date, in Punjab, 17947 in Sind, 6554 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 2885 in Baluchistan, 1138 in Islamabad, 556 in Gilgit-Balstan and 133 in Ajid Kashmir 16,685 cases of coronavirus have been diagnosed.
The quarantine centers of 462 hospitals are providing treatment for patients, where 7,295 beds can be provided.
Pakistan has so far conducted 414,254 coronavirus tests and 13,962 tests in the past 24 hours. The country has recovered 13,101 coronavirus patients, but many patients are in critical condition.
