Federal Cabinet declares President Alvi’s role as unconstitutional

President Arif Alvi denies Presidential immunity in PTV case

Islamabad: President Arif Alvi has filed a petition denying presidential immunity in Pakistan Television (PTV) and parliamentary attacks, saying he has studied Islamic history and found no room for immunity, despite Pakistan’s constitution grants these immunities, which he prefers not to accept.

Arif Alvi appeared before the anti-terror court in the PTV and parliamentary attack case and said that the Pakistani constitution gave me immunity in the above case, but I found that there is no such immunity in Islam, the laws of Islam Much bigger than the law So I don’t expect any immunity in this case. He added that they appeared in court with dignity during the caliphate.

President Arif Alvi further said that he was charged with this case in 2016 and was also granted bail from the same court. He also requested the jury to make quick decisions as these cases are carried further in children. “My father had filed a case back in 1977 which is still ongoing” the President said.
