ISLAMABAD: President Dr Arif Alvi has accepted Shahzad Akbar’s resignation as the Prime Minister’s Accountability Adviser.
The cabinet department has issued a notice on this after the president nods.
Earlier on Monday, Shahzad Akbar resigned as an adviser to Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan.
He made the announcement through his account on the social networking platform Twitter.
Shahzad Akbar wrote in a post: “I have tendered my resignation to the Prime Minister to serve as an advisor. I sincerely hope that accountability will continue under the leadership of the IK Prime Minister as per the PTI manifesto.”
He further stated that he will continue to contribute as a member of the legal fraternity.
In July 2020, Shahzad Akbar was appointed as the Prime Minister’s Accountability and Home Affairs Adviser. He earlier served as the Prime Minister’s special assistant to the interior.
