PM takes notice of Lahore blast, directs early arrest of culprits


Lahore: Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan on Thursday condemned the bombing in New Anarkali, Lahore, which killed two people and injured more than 25 others.

While noting the bombing, the Prime Minister has instructed the relevant authorities to arrest those responsible as soon as possible.

He further extended his condolences to the families of the blast victims.

It is worth mentioning that a time device exploded in the Panmandi area of the new Anarkali market in Lahore, killing 2 people and injuring 26 others.

Rescue teams arrived at the scene and transferred the injured to Mayo Hospital. Windows of nearby shops and buildings were shattered in the blast.

Police said about 1.5 kilograms of explosives were used in the explosion. It is further understood that explosives were placed on the ground between the motorcycles.

Initial reports said the explosion occurred at 1:44 p.m., destroying a building and destroying eight motorcycles.
