Muzaffarabad: Prime Minister Imran Khan will pay a one-day visit today (Friday) and arrive at Muzaffarabad to lay the foundation for the Kohara hydropower project.

Prime Minister Imran will be informed of the 1,124 MW Kohala Hydropower Project. He will also address the foundation stone laying ceremony of the power project.

Prime Minister Imran Khan will be with President Azad Jammu and Kashmir Sardar Masood Khan and Prime Minister Ak Raja Muhammad during his visit · AJK Raja Muhammad Farooq Haider Khan held a meeting.

PM Imran will also hear a briefing on Ehsaas’ emergency cash plan. He will also distribute compensatory checks to those in need under the Ehsaas emergency cash plan.

According to sources, Prime Minister Imran will also introduce them to the Naya Pakistani housing plan during the visit.

Earlier on Thursday, the Kohara Hydropower Project had reached a historic tripartite agreement, with an investment of $2.4 billion in the energy sector.

Prime Minister Imran Khan, Federal Minister, Chinese Ambassador Yao Jing and others witnessed the ceremony.

Prime Minister Imran Khan said at the signing ceremony of the Kohara Hydropower Project Agreement that prices have risen due to imported fuel to generate electricity. The use of oil to generate electricity also affects the environment. Therefore, the government focuses on clean energy rather than imported fuel. The leading Three Gorges company will develop the Kohala Hydel project. He added that the project will create employment opportunities for Azad Kashmir.

He said that the project is the largest investment of 2.4 billion US dollars, Pakistan has huge potential for hydropower production.

Meanwhile, the chairman of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor Authority (CPECA), retired lieutenant general Asim Saleem Bajwa, described it as a historic day in a tweet and said This is the largest investment of $2.4 billion IPP in the energy industry.

The chairman of the CPEC Chairman’s Committee said that today the Prime Minister clearly instructed to speed up the work of the economic corridor project, and all parties are working hard for this day.
