Islamabad: The Federal Cabinet meets today (Tuesday) to discuss the overall political and economic situation in the country. The Cabinet will also review the situation of the country’s coronavirus pandemic.
Prime Minister Imran Khan will chair the Federal Cabinet meeting to be held in the Prime Minister’s Office. The 13-point agenda will be discussed during the cabinet meeting.
The source said that the cabinet will brief the media on the media’s dues and the country’s economic indicators.
The Cabinet will approve the establishment of a committee to investigate the shortage of petroleum products in the country. During the meeting, the import of 5 Euro diesel and gasoline will also be discussed.
Sources said that the federal cabinet will also approve the decision taken by the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) on July 22 while a progress report on institutional reforms will also be presented during the meeting.
Sources also said that the federal cabinet will also approve the appointment of the chief executive officer (CEO) of the state-owned, Universal Service Fund (USF).
The source also informed that the draft rules and regulations for the appointment of the chairman and members of the Hydropower Development Bureau (WAPDA) will be introduced during the meeting.
