PM assures to provide health insurance card to every family in KP


Peshawar: Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan pledged on Wednesday to provide health insurance cards to every family in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).

In his speech at the launch of the micro-health insurance plan, the prime minister said that making Pakistan a welfare state is the government’s top priority. He added that the Pakistan Labor Organization (PTI) won the KP for the second time because of measures taken to reduce poverty.

Earlier in the day, the Prime Minister arrived in Peshawar for a one-day visit, where he met with the Chief Minister and Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province. The meeting discussed the administrative issues and political situation of the province.

The Minister of Information and Broadcasting, Chowdhury Favad Hussein, also attended the meeting.

The Prime Minister also plans to attend the Ehsaas Ration Discount Program registration ceremony in Peshawar. His special assistant for poverty alleviation and social protection, Dr. Sania Nishtar, will give a detailed introduction.

According to the Kamyab Pakistan plan, micro health insurance will provide 7.5 million families in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province with free medical services worth 1 million rupees per year.

The Ehsaas Ration Discount Program will provide groceries to approximately 20 million households. These households have as many as 130 million people and belong to areas with weaker economies.
