Karachi: The legal heirs of all passengers in the PIA crash will pay each passenger 10 million rupees in the form of insurance. Prior to this, PIA had paid 1 million rupees for funeral expenses for each passenger.
Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Air Marshal Arshad Malik successfully negotiated with the insurance company and will now receive 10 million rupees before paying passengers 5 million rupees to all legal heirs.
The increase in the insurance amount is the result of the personal efforts of PIA Chief Air Marshal Arshad Malik, who received special instructions from the Minister of Aviation Ghulam Sarwar Khan.
According to a PIA spokesperson, the increased insurance amount is in addition to the amount already paid. This work has been completed and is now waiting for the legal heir to provide the certificate of inheritance. In this regard, letters are being sent to the heirs.
