Islamabad: The Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) and other private airlines in the country have jacked up their fares up to 114 percent ahead of Eid ul Adha.
According to sources, before raising interest rates, airlines charged passengers traveling between Karachi and Islamabad or Lahore a fare of 7,000 rupees.
The airline charges 13,000 rupees for a one-way ticket from Karachi to Lahore, and 25,000 rupees for a round-trip ticket between Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad.
The previous fare increase in Eidul Adha will cause further difficulties for the people of the country, as rising inflation has already had some impact on them, and it continues to do so.
