Pakistan’s daily COVID-19 case count over 2000 for first time since late Sept


Lahore: Pakistan reported 13 deaths from the novel coronavirus in the past 24 hours, as the number of positive cases surged to 1,309,248. The national death toll had jumped to 28,987 on Wednesday.

According to the latest data from the National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), 2,074 people have tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 24 hours.

Province details

Punjab remains the worst-hit province in terms of deaths, followed by Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Till now 13,083 individuals have lost their lives to the epidemic in Punjab, 7,691 in Sindh 5,945 in KP, 967 in Islamabad, 748 in Azad Kashmir, 367 in Balochistan, and 186 in GB.

Furthermore 490,010 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Sindh, 448,924 in Punjab 181,842 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 109,660 in Islamabad, 34,715 in Azad Kashmir 33,664 in Balochistan and 10,433 in Gilgit-Baltistan.

Pakistan has conducted 23,935,232 coronavirus tests so far, 44,120 in the past 24 hours. 1,259,699 patients have recovered in the country, while 617 are in critical condition.
