Pakistan reports 5,196 coronavirus cases, 15 deaths in 24 hours

Pakistan’s coronavirus positivity rate above 1pc for third day in a row


Lahore: As the number of positive cases soared to 1,296,527, Pakistan has reported 8 deaths from the novel coronavirus in the past 24 hours. On Sunday, the national death toll jumped to 28,941.

According to the latest data from the National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), 594 people have tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 24 hours.

Details of each province

In terms of death toll, Punjab province remains the most affected province, followed by Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Till now 13,073 individuals have lost their lives to the epidemic in Punjab, 7,673 in Sindh 5,932 in KP, 967 in Islamabad, 746 in Azad Kashmir, 364 in Balochistan, and 186 in GB.

Furthermore 482,411 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Sindh, 445,228 in Punjab 181,430 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 108,720 in Islamabad, 34,665 in Azad Kashmir 33,644 in Balochistan and 10,429 in Gilgit-Baltistan.

To date, Pakistan has conducted 23,469,131 coronavirus tests and 45,585 tests in the past 24 hours. The country has recovered 1,257,024 patients and 637 patients are in critical condition.
