Pakistan’s coronavirus cases soar to 37,218 with 803 deaths


Islamabad: During the last 24 hours on Friday, the number of coronavirus cases confirmed in Pakistan soared to 37,218, of which 1,430 new infections were reported.

According to the latest statistics released by the National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), so far, there are 14099 locations in Punjab, Sind Province, 5423 locations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province, and 2513 locations in Balochistan Province. There are 501 in Gilgit Baltistan, 866 in Islamabad, 105 in Azad Kashmir.

As many as 26,260 patients are being treated by hospitals and quarantine agencies in the country. So far, 10,155 patients have recovered from the virus.

In the past 24 hours, 33 people have died, with a death toll of 803. To date, the country has conducted 3,44,450 tests to detect coronavirus.

On Thursday, Prime Minister Imran Khan highlighted the friendly publicity campaign on COVID-19.

He chaired a meeting on the situation of Islamabad coronavirus, saying that instead of forcing people to take preventive measures, it is better to raise awareness among people.

Imran Khan also suggested that the media follow people in a more effective way to take preventive measures and implement guidelines on curbing the virus.

He once said that the blockade is not a solution to the coronavirus, and the government is making a decision based on the actual situation on the ground and the situation of the people.
