Pakistan stands with Kashmiris in their legitimate struggle for self-determination: PM

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan said Pakistan stands in solidarity with its Kashmiri brothers and sisters and is committed to their legitimate struggle for self-determination.

On the occasion of Kashmir Unity Day today (Saturday), he tweeted that Modi’s policies of fascist oppression and violence have failed to shatter the spirit of the Kashmir resistance movement in India’s illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir region.

The Prime Minister urged the international community to pay attention to India’s gross human rights violations in the IIOJK, including crimes against humanity, war crimes and acts of genocide, as well as the threat of forced demographic change. All of this, he added, is a complete violation of the Geneva Conventions.

Imran Khan said the international community had a responsibility to ensure a fair referendum in Kashmir. He said the world must not ignore the plight of the people of the IIOJK and their undeniable desire to escape the harsh military occupation of the Indian state.
