Lahore: Pakistan has confirmed 111 deaths – highest till date – by novel coronavirus in one day as the number of positive cases has surged to 148,921. The nationwide tally of fatalities has jumped to 2,839.
According to the latest data from the National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), 4,443 people have been tested positive for COVID-19 within 24 hours.
Punjab remains the province most affected by the pandemic, followed by Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.
So far, in Punjab, there are 55,581 cases in Sind, 18,472 cases in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 8327 cases in Baluchistan, 8857 cases in Islamabad, 1,143 cases in Gilgit-Baltistan, and 663 in Azd Kashmir 55878 cases of coronavirus were diagnosed.
In addition, 1081 people were killed in the epidemic, in Punjab, 853 in Sindh, 707 in KP, Balochistan 85, Islamabad 83, GB 17 and Azad Kashmir.
The quarantine centers of 462 hospitals are providing treatment for patients, where 7,295 beds can be provided.
Testing and recovery
To date, Pakistan has conducted 922,665 coronavirus tests and 25,015 tests in the past 24 hours. The country has recovered 56,390 coronavirus patients, but many are in critical condition.
