Pakistan reports highest number of single-day COVID-19 cases

Lahore: Pakistan reported 23 deaths from the novel coronavirus in the past 24 hours, as the number of positive cases surged to 1,353,479. The national death toll jumped to 29,065 on Friday.

According to the latest data from the National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), 7,678 people have tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 24 hours.

Province details

Punjab remains the worst-hit province in terms of deaths, followed by Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

516,874 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Sindh, 458,879 in Punjab, 183,403 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 115,047 in Islamabad, 34,997 in Azad Kashmir, 33,812 in Balochistan and 10,467 in Gilgit-Baltistan.

Pakistan has conducted 24,415,716 coronavirus tests so far, 59,343 in the past 24 hours. 1,265,665 patients have recovered in the country and 961 are in critical condition.
