Lahore: Pakistan reported 8,183 new COVID-19 cases on Friday, the most in a single day since the start of the 2020 coronavirus pandemic.
Pakistan has reported more than 30 deaths from the novel coronavirus in the past 24 hours, and the number of confirmed positive cases has soared to 1,402,070. The national death toll has jumped to 29,192.
According to the latest data released by the National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), 8,183 people have tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 24 hours.
Punjab remains the worst-hit province in terms of deaths, followed by Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
535,965 confirmed cases of coronavirus in Sindh, 471,925 in Punjab, 189,300 in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, 123,648 in Islamabad, 36,465 in Azad Kashmir, 36,465 in Balochistan There have been 34,187 confirmed cases in the province and 10,580 in Gilgit-Baltistan.
Pakistan has conducted 24,822,901 coronavirus tests so far, 68,624 in the past 24 hours. 1,274,657 patients have recovered in the country, while 1,353 are in critical condition.
